Early beta download help

Common browser download warnings

New Windows programs often have little reputation data. A warning means the browser wants confirmation; it does not automatically mean the file is harmful.

Microsoft Edge

  1. Open the Downloads panel.
  2. Find the Answered by Steve installer.
  3. Select the menu beside it, then Keep.
  4. If another prompt appears, select Show more, then Keep anyway.

Google Chrome

  1. Open Downloads.
  2. Locate the installer warning.
  3. Select Keep or Download suspicious file only after confirming the site and filename below.

Mozilla Firefox

  1. Open the Downloads panel.
  2. Select the blocked or pending installer.
  3. Choose Allow download after confirming its source.

Windows SmartScreen

  1. If Windows says it protected your PC, select More info.
  2. Confirm the app name is Answered by Steve.
  3. Select Run anyway only when the source and filename match.
