Early beta download help
Common browser download warnings
New Windows programs often have little reputation data. A warning means the browser wants confirmation; it does not automatically mean the file is harmful.
Microsoft Edge
- Open the Downloads panel.
- Find the Answered by Steve installer.
- Select the menu beside it, then Keep.
- If another prompt appears, select Show more, then Keep anyway.
Google Chrome
- Open Downloads.
- Locate the installer warning.
- Select Keep or Download suspicious file only after confirming the site and filename below.
Mozilla Firefox
- Open the Downloads panel.
- Select the blocked or pending installer.
- Choose Allow download after confirming its source.
Windows SmartScreen
- If Windows says it protected your PC, select More info.
- Confirm the app name is Answered by Steve.
- Select Run anyway only when the source and filename match.
